Some of you have contacted me concerning the impact of construction in your neighborhoods. The noise ordinance restricts the sound of some elements of construction and is enforced by the Police Department (617-552-7258). Blasting is regulated by the Fire Prevention Bureau of the Fire Department (617-552-7275). The Inspectional Services Department enforces the Building Code and Zoning Ordinance (617-552-7014). If problems cannot be solved by these agencies, call the Citizen Assistance Office at (617) 552-7115. If all else fails, call me or any of the other Alderman.
